Ashok Kumar Chhakara is the former Train Manager with Indian Railways and accomplished international volleyball player who represented India in the Asian Championship in 1984, won with the Senior Indian Team in test matches against Japan and Saudi Arabia in 1985, secured 3rd place in the World Railway Games, achieved Gold and Bronze in the Indian Railways Senior National Championships at Bhilai (1987) and Haryana (1988), led Indian Railways to 1st and 2nd place in the Federation Cup at Rajpura (1988) and Tiruchirappalli (1989), FIVB-certified coach at International Coaches Course Levels 1 and 2, Senior Coach for Rajasthan in 2009 and 2010, and Chief Coach of the Indian Railways and India U-20 Women’s Teams, winning multiple national and international medals including at the 21st Women’s Championship in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.
