Dr. Jaideep Sarkar is a seasoned sports consultant, Olympic educator, and national volleyball coach with over 35 years of experience in sports development and coaching. He currently serves as a consultant to the Steel Authority of India and Lead Officer for the Global Active City Mission in Bokaro, overseeing facility operations and talent scouting. A Resource Person for the UN, International Olympic Committee, CIPC, Global Active City (GAC), FIVB, and ITK Leipzig University, Germany, he has also served as a UN Officer for Sport Development and Peace and as Project Officer (Technical Infrastructure) for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. As Chief Coach of the Indian Men’s Volleyball Team at the Asian Games 2023 and Asian Senior Men’s Championship 2023, he has been widely recognized for his contributions. His honors include an Honorary Doctorate and UN Life Membership for Sports, the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Award for Sports for Society (2022), the Sardar Patel Award from the Government of Gujarat (2024), and the Dr. Jaipal Singh Award from the Government of Jharkhand (2025).
