Soumo Roy is an accomplished entrepreneur, business leader, and international rower with over 20 years of experience in industrial cooling solutions and healthcare ventures. As the Managing Director of Tempcon since 2005, he has led the company to become Eastern India’s largest process chiller manufacturer and the region’s only producer of panel ACs, precision ACs, crane ACs, oil chillers, and dehumidifiers. Under his leadership, Tempcon has expanded its export network to 21 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and SAARC regions, while collaborating with top multinational corporations such as Hindalco, SAIL, ITC, and Godrej. A strong advocate of operational excellence, he has introduced Kaizen-based efficiency systems and CRM optimization to boost productivity and client engagement. Alongside his industrial ventures, he has founded and manages a medical business focused on growth, client acquisition, and service excellence. Soumo is an active member of several business and professional bodies, including ISHRAE, the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Bengal Business Council, FACCI, FIEO, EEPC India, and the West Bengal Rowing Association. Beyond business, he is a decorated international rower who has represented India at the Asian Indoor Rowing Championships, winning medals, and has triumphed in multiple state, national, and international rowing competitions. Driven by a passion for endurance and adventure, he has also completed triathlons, marathons, and high-altitude Himalayan treks, including Chadar, Goechala, and the Annapurna Base Camp.
