Dr. N. R. Ramkumar serves as the Director of Physical Education and Dean of Students’ Welfare at AMET University, Chennai, bringing over 27 years of expertise in physical education, student administration, and institutional development. A respected National Representative on the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) Sports Board, he has played a pivotal role in shaping India's university-level sports landscape through active participation in Khelo India and various Inter-University Championships. He has successfully organized and coordinated over 15 national AIU tournaments, including Tug of War, Table Tennis, and Volleyball, and contributes to academic excellence as a member of multiple Academic Councils and Syllabus Committees, influencing policy at both state and national levels. A recognized strategic leader in student welfare and outreach, Dr. Ramkumar has been honored with 14 national and international awards for his academic work and 5 awards for community service. Notably, he received the Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Best Teacher Award for two consecutive years (2020–21 and 2021–22), celebrating his outstanding contributions to student well-being and holistic education.
