Emmanuel Jacob is a seasoned sports administrator, basketball coach, and sports development professional with over 30 years of experience in coaching, management, and administration with Indian Railways. As a player, he represented Indian Railways in basketball nationals and went on to coach the SER Kolkata Women’s Team as well as the SECR Men’s and Women’s Teams from 2004 to 2009. Currently, he serves as a trainer for Indian Railways Women’s Basketball Off-Season Camps at Guwahati and ICF Chennai. Emmanuel has held key administrative roles, including Sports In-Charge at SECR (2005–2014), where he managed sports programs, infrastructure, and talent recruitment across 14 disciplines under the sports quota. He has organized numerous All India Railway Championships in sports such as Archery, Football, Boxing, Handball, Cricket, and Bodybuilding. Notably, he introduced archery to eight zonal railways and two production units, serving as Selector for eight years and Manager for 15 years of the Indian Railways Archery Team. Recognized for his pioneering work in sports infrastructure development and athlete mentorship, Emmanuel Jacob has made a lasting impact on basketball, archery, and sports promotion within Indian Railways.
