Major General Deep Ahlawat, VSM, Arjuna Awardee, is the Vice Chancellor of Major Dhyan Chand State Sports University, Meerut, bringing over 35 years of distinguished service as a senior Army officer and celebrated equestrian. A recipient of the Arjuna Award, Vishisht Seva Medal, and multiple Chief of Army Staff Commendations, he has excelled in administration, sports management, and training. An expert in managing large Army training, equine, and canine establishments, he has overseen 2,400 acres, 3,000+ animals, and large teams. Since 2006, he has been pivotal in developing sports infrastructure and training athletes who have contributed to India’s medal tally at the Asian Games. As an FEI-accredited Course Designer, National Coach, and official for over 15 years, he has won 170+ medals, including two Asian Games bronze medals (2002, 2006), and held key roles in the Equestrian Federation of India. Major General Ahlawat is committed to transforming the university into a leading center for sports excellence in India.
