Vaishali Khasherao Phadtare is a celebrated former captain of the Indian women’s volleyball team, known for her remarkable contributions both as a player and a coach. She represented India at the international level from 1991 to 2006, winning several gold medals at the SAF Games and establishing herself as one of the sport’s most consistent performers. Vaishali holds a national record for her outstanding longevity, having played in 21 consecutive Senior National Championships from 1988 to 2008. After her playing career, she transitioned into coaching, leading the Indian Railways and national women’s teams to numerous gold medals at prestigious tournaments such as the South Asian Games and Senior Nationals. Her strategic leadership and dedication have earned her widespread recognition as a national coach. Vaishali has also completed advanced FIVB Level I and II coaching certifications, excelling in both theory and practical components. In recognition of her achievements, she was honoured with the Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Award for the year 1992–1993.
