Dileep Poonia is a passionate and influential figure in Indian basketball, excelling as both a player and a coach while contributing significantly to the growth of the sport in Rajasthan. Coming from a proud sports family—his father being a former international basketball player—he developed a strong foundation in the game from a young age. He represented the Rajasthan School Basketball Team from 1985 to 2000, showcasing remarkable consistency and dedication over 15 years of competitive play. With over 15 years of national-level playing experience, he established himself as a dependable and skilled athlete on the court. Transitioning from player to leader, Dileep Poonia has been serving as the Secretary of the Jaipur District Basketball Association since 2015, where he has played a key role in promoting and organizing basketball activities in the region. He is also the coach of the Jaipur Basketball Team, actively training and guiding young talent toward excellence. In addition to coaching, he contributes to the sport’s promotion as the Organizing Secretary of major basketball tournaments in Jaipur, ensuring high-quality events and competitive opportunities for players. With over a decade of service in basketball administration and development, he remains deeply committed to nurturing the sport at the grassroots level.
