Sumit Sharma is a highly influential figure in roller sports, serving as the Secretary of the Roller Skating Association of Jharkhand (RSAJ) with over 15 years of coaching experience and more than 6 years as a Technical Official and Secretary. A founding member of RSAJ—affiliated with RSFI and recognized by the Jharkhand Olympic Association—he has played a pivotal role in building the roller skating ecosystem in the state. Under his expert coaching, skaters trained by him have won an astonishing 900+ medals at CBSE, SGFI, RSFI, DAV, and international events, including podium finishes in China, showcasing his excellence in athlete development. As an organizer and administrator, he has successfully conducted 75+ state and national competitions, including the prestigious DAV Nationals 2022, and has consistently hosted the State Championships for 12 consecutive years. His visionary leadership has also helped introduce Skateboarding and Inline Freestyle in Jharkhand, enabling the state’s first-ever participation at national-level competitions in these disciplines. Honoured and awarded by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Sumit Sharma continues to set new benchmarks in roller sports. With a forward-looking vision, he aims to transform Jharkhand into a major hub for roller skating by hosting National and Asian Cup events, inspiring the next generation of athletes and elevating the sport to international heights.
