Vinit Lohiya is a distinguished basketball player and sports journalist, he captained the Madhya Pradesh team in the Pre-Asian Basketball Championship (1973) and represented MP, Rajasthan, Railways, and Universities in multiple national championships. Playing for Western Railway, he won six Gold Medals in Inter-Railway Championships and later served as Chairman of the Railway Basketball Technical Committee (1998–2010). A National “A” Class Referee with the Basketball Federation of India, he officiated at prestigious international tournaments. As a coach, he guided Ajmer University to victory in the 1988 All India Inter-University Championship. A seasoned journalist, he served as Sports Editor for Punjab Kesari and Dainik Bhaskar, earning recognition as “Best Sports Editor” in 2000.
