Olympian Kuldeep Singh Malik is a former Olympian and veteran freestyle wrestler from Haryana, India. He has been honoured with the Major Dhyan Chand Award in 2010 for his lifetime contribution to sports, as well as the Bhim Award by the Government of Haryana. As a wrestler, he represented India at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, won a Gold Medal at the Commonwealth Championship, secured Silver and Bronze Medals at the Asian Championship, and competed in the 1986 Asian Games. Transitioning to coaching, he served as the Chief Coach of the Indian Women’s Freestyle Wrestling Team from 2011 to 2021, including at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Under his guidance, Sakshi Malik won an Olympic Bronze in Rio 2016, and the team achieved multiple medals at the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games in 2014 and 2018, as well as one Silver and three Bronze Medals at the Senior World Championships.
