Padma Shri Olympian Bajrang Lal Talhar, VSM, is an acclaimed international rower from Rajasthan who has brought India numerous laurels in rowing. The first Indian to win an individual silver medal in rowing at the Asian Games (Doha 2006), he went on to secure gold at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and bronze at the 2014 Incheon Games. A multiple-time Asian Rowing Championship medalist, with four golds and two bronzes, he also won two golds at the South Asian Games and several medals at National Rowing Championships. He represented India at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and competed in World Rowing Championships and World Cups across Europe. For his exceptional contributions, he has been honoured with the Padma Shri (2013), Vishisht Seva Medal (2012), Arjuna Award (2008), Rajeev Gandhi Award (2007), and Maharana Pratap Award (2006). Beyond his sporting career, he has also contributed as Manager and Coach in national rowing championships, inspiring the next generation of athletes.
