Kishalay Basak

Kishalay Basak is an accomplished International Table Tennis Player and Coach with a distinguished career spanning decade. He emerged as the winner of the Dubai Open Championship (U.A.E., 1995) and the Belarus Team Camp Championship (1995). Representing India in the Commonwealth and Asian Junior Championships held in Japan, China, and India between 1989 and 1994, he showcased exceptional skill and consistency. A multiple National Champion in Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and Team events from 1987 to 2014, he also secured bronze medals at the National and Inter-Institutional Championships in Men’s Doubles and Team events. As a coach, he led the Bengal Civil Service Team to Gold at Chandigarh in 2004 and guided the Maneksia Team to victory in the Bengal Premier League (2009–10). Under his mentorship, the West Bengal Team achieved 4 Gold, 1 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals at the Sub Junior Nationals in 2018. He has also coached teams at prestigious tournaments such as Khelo India, Senior Nationals, and University Championships (2021–2023), and most recently led the East Kolkata District TT Association to 1 Gold, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals at the 9th State Games (2025).
