Honourable Justice Dinesh Maheshwari ( Retd) , Former Chief Patron of Students World Cup Council (SWCC) is a distinguished legal figure, known for his exemplary career in the judiciary of India. He served as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India, having been appointed to the position on 18 January 2019. Prior to this, he held several key judicial roles, showcasing his leadership and legal expertise across various high courts in India. Justice Maheshwari began his judicial journey by taking the oath as a Judge of the Rajasthan High Court on 2 September 2004. His legal career then took him to the Allahabad High Court, where he was transferred in 2015 and served as a senior judge at the Lucknow Bench. His commitment to justice was further demonstrated when he took the oath as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya on 24 February 2016. Later, he was transferred to the High Court of Karnataka, where he assumed office as the 30th Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court on 12 February 2018. Justice Maheshwari’s tenure in the judiciary is marked by his unwavering dedication to upholding the rule of law and delivering justice impartially. As the Former Chief Patron of the Students World Cup Council, Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, who served as the Chief Patron of the Students World Cup Council (SWCC) until 10th April 2025, continues to inspire the Council’s members, team, and associated professionals with his vast experience and profound understanding of the legal system. His exemplary leadership has played a pivotal role in shaping the vision and direction of SWCC, Apart from his distinguished judicial career, Justice Maheshwari is also a passionate sports enthusiast. During his earlier years, he actively engaged in various sports during his leisure time, reflecting his enduring love for athletic pursuits. His deep appreciation for sport continues to resonate in his support for youth-centric sporting initiatives like the Students World Cup.
