Suvra Kumar Banerjee is a seasoned basketball coach and sports administrator with over three decades of active involvement in Indian basketball. He represented West Bengal in multiple Sub-Junior, Junior, Youth, and Senior National Basketball Championships between 1993 and 2024, as well as in University and School Nationals. From 2002 to 2013, he played for Metro Railway, Kolkata in the All India Railway Basketball Championships. A qualified NIS Basketball Coach from Salt Lake, Kolkata (2010), he has successfully coached the West Bengal State Teams in numerous National Championships since 2005. Since 2014, he has also represented Metro Railway, Kolkata as a coach in the All India Railway Basketball Championships. Certified as a Panel-B Referee (BFI) in 2008, Suvra has officiated at State, National, and All India School and Railway Championships, as well as various BFI-affiliated tournaments across India. Currently serving as Office Superintendent (Sports) and Coach of the Metro Railway Basketball Team, he continues to dedicate his career to the development and promotion of basketball in India.
