Asish Kumar Lahiri serves as the Chief Functionary (Secretary) of a leading NGO that manages 12 educational institutions, including Medical, Dental, Engineering, Law, and Management colleges, along with an 850-bed hospital. He is also the Secretary of another NGO dedicated to uplifting the underprivileged through initiatives such as an Industrial Training Institute, a Government of India–aided Jana Shikshan Sansthan, and a School for the Deaf and Dumb. Deeply involved in promoting science awareness, environmental conservation, anti-pollution drives, and ICDS projects in Nandigram, Purba Medinipur, he has previously worked with Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation and Haldia Institute of Technology. With vast experience in organizing major cultural and sports events like Haldia Utsab, Nadi Utsab, international football, blind cricket, and chess tournaments, he has also been an active participant in state, national, and international seminars and workshops on HIV/AIDS prevention.
