Dr. S. Selvakumar, Director and Head, Department of Physical Education, BS Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, Vandalur, Chennai, has recently joined as a Professional Member of the Indian Yoga Association (IYA), New Delhi. He holds degrees in M.A., M.B.A., M.Sc. Yoga, M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Physical Education, along with an NSNIS certification in Cricket and a Diploma in Network-Centered Computing. He has 19 years of teaching and administrative experience in physical education.
He is a National Board Member, AIU, New Delhi; Sports Coordinator for Khelo India University Games (2022 and 2024); AIU Observer in many national-level competitions and tournaments across various sports and games; and also a selector and manager for the Vizzy Trophy cricket tournament. He serves as a Ph.D. doctoral committee member and Board of Studies member in several higher educational institutions. He has organized numerous national and international tournaments and competitions; published several articles in reputed journals; and presented many papers at conferences and seminars. He has also served as a resource person on many occasions. Dr. Selvakumar is known for his wisdom, commitment, and compassion. His virtues, principles, values, selflessness, and generosity serve as a guiding force for many aspiring youngsters.
