His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Bin Fahad is the current Chairman of the Zayed International Foundation for the Environment, United Arab Emirates. A visionary leader in environmental advocacy and institutional development, he has been at the forefront of promoting sustainable practices and environmental awareness across the Gulf region and beyond. Since 1999, he has chaired the Supreme Committee of the prestigious Zayed International Prize for the Environment, one of the most significant environmental awards globally. His Excellency also serves as Vice-President of the World Deserts Association and is the Editor-in-Chief of both the Environmental World series and Environment and Society Magazine.
His Excellency previously held several senior leadership roles within the Dubai Police, including Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Academic Affairs and Training. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Police Academy, where he contributed significantly to academic and training frameworks. His influence extends into numerous international and regional bodies, including the International Police Chiefs Association, Arab Demographers Association, Juvenile Awareness and Care Association, Emirates Giftedness Association, and the Planning Committee of the International Police Chiefs Foundation.
Academically, His Excellency holds a Ph.D. in Economic Development from Cairo University (1997), a Master’s degree from the United States (1985), and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the United Arab Emirates University (1983). A prolific author, his publications include The Economics of Money and Banking (2004) and The Economic Development of the Emirate of Dubai (2005). In addition to his governmental and academic contributions, he has served on the teaching staff at UAE University and on the Board of Directors of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. His multifaceted career reflects a deep commitment to sustainable development, education, and public service.
