Dr. Ashok G. Verghese serves as the Pro Chancellor and Executive Director of the Hindustan Group of Institutions (HGI), spearheading renowned institutions like HITS, KCG College of Technology, and Hindustan International Schools. With degrees in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA from Madras University, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from SSBM Geneva, he combines academic depth with strategic vision. Recognized with the Educational Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2019) by Shri Pranab Mukherjee and the IEEE Award for engineering excellence, he has led groundbreaking innovations such as India’s first flying bike and the ultra-light micro-satellite "Jaihind." Under his leadership, HITS earned prestigious QS rankings (BRICS 301–350, India 81–85). A strong advocate for AI in education, he has developed smart workplace systems and published research on educational innovation. A committed philanthropist and sports enthusiast, he provides scholarships for underprivileged students and promotes football through the Hindustan Eagles Football Club.
